Traffic Design Engineer

First Group Engineering is looking for a Traffic Design Engineer for the design of traffic signals, traffic signal systems, street lighting, signs, engineering assessments, and traffic impact studies.

The ideal candidate will have the following:

3-6 years of traffic design experience
EIT or PE and/or PTOE
Experience using Capacity Analysis and AutoCAD software
Familiar with IMUTCD, INDOT, LPA and AASHTO Standards and Procedures

Roadway Project Manager / Roadway Engineer

First Group Engineering, Inc. is looking for a Project Manager / Roadway Engineer for INDOT & LPA roadway design projects. Projects may include roadway reconstruction or rehabilitation, intersection improvements, roundabouts, storm sewers, sidewalks and ADA ramps, multi-use trails, or utility coordination.

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
- Professional Engineer License in Indiana
- 8 years of Road Design experience
- AutoCAD Civil 3D experience
- Familiar with INDOT, LPA and AASHTO Standards and Procedures
- Ability to manage team of in-house designers and subconsultants, as well multiple project schedules, budgets, and perform quality control.

Survey Crew Chief

First Group Engineering in looking for an experienced Survey Crew Chief to join our Indianapolis, IN office. Responsibilities will include planning, conducting and reviewing topographic survey data for civil engineering projects.

Primary Responsibilities;
-Conducts topographic surveys and collects/provides data for project design and right of way acquisition that conform to INDOT specifications for field procedure and field book documentation .
-Demonstrated ability to supervise field crews during various conventional, robotic and GPS land surveying projects
-Ability to analyze and manipulate survey data and perform basic calculations as required.
-Produce sketches for design related tasks and provides schematic design information to the Project Engineer.
-Oversees and reviews the work of other survey staff to ensure quality and compliance with required standards.

Position Requirements:
-A.S. degree in surveying/geomatics, civil engineering or related field is preferred. High school diploma or GED is required.
-5+ years of experience performing topographic surveys in support of civil engineering projects (DOT and route survey) is required.
-Knowledge of modern survey data collection techniques using robotic survey equipment and GPS.
-Proficiency with Trimble data collector and related software or similar systems is required.
-Experience with Civil 3d, AutoCAD.
-Good communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with other team members.
-Ability to work independently and complete tasks on-time and within budget.
-Valid drivers license is required.
